Who Is Miss Kay?

Miss Kay Kisses A Puffer Fish She Just CaughtYou know, years ago, someone asked me, “Who are you, really?”

I didn’t know the answer.

At that point in my life, I was caught up in a swirl of abuse that seemed to come from all sides – my marriage, my husband’s family, and my church were all extremely toxic relationships. In fact, the minister who asked the question was among the most toxic of all – and yet, he was right to point out that I really had no idea who I was, what I was doing, or why God had put me on the planet.

I was toxic to myself.

I was so sick for so many years; at one point I was literally laid down with illnesses and addiction. I had hashimoto’s,  gastroparesis, and had become an alcoholic.

It was years before I broke free from those relationships and burdens, but I am so grateful to God for the journey.

These days, I’m happily single and my children are healing from the years of abuse we all suffered. I’m part of an incredible, loving church family at Salt Church in Wilmington NC. I own several successful justice-related businesses and a wellness company. I get to travel a lot as I do fugitive recovery and teach wellness classes.

As we turn the page into 2025, the future is extremely bright.

I love Jesus and am immersed in a revival movement that’s changing the world by bringing Him into the midst of dark places. In fact, one of the reasons I love bail so much is I get to bring Jesus into the lives of people who might never hear of Him otherwise. I get to see and be a part of miracles – healing, deliverance, transformation – in the process of bringing justice into our communities.

My strong passion for justice, empowerment, and wellness has led me to lead others in those pursuits. You’d think that bail bonds, essential oils, and Jesus don’t go together but trust me … they do! I get to help people change their lives and future every single day of my life.

I adore my family. We have lived through so much together and are still standing. My three children and their spouses are so amazing, and they’ve created seven children who light up my world. Yes – I have SEVEN grandchildren!

You can often find me beachcombing, fishing, camping, kayaking, or hiking. If I could somehow create a tesseract between the NC coast and the NC mountains, so they weren’t 6 hours apart, I would!

This is my great big life that God gave me, and I’m living it to the fullest! Thanks for joining me on the journey!
